Ø  And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader(Imam) for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [ Allah ] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers(Zalimeen)."
(Surah Baqra ayat no.124)


Ø  "Your guardian is only Allah, His Messenger and those who believe, establish prayers and pay the zakat while they are bowing in prayer."
(Surah al-Ma'ida, 5:55)


Ø  And We made them Imams who guided (people) by Our command, and We revealed to them the doing of good and the keeping up of prayer and the giving of the alms, and Us (alone) did they serve;
(Surah Alanbiya,21:73)
Ø  And We made of them Imams to guide by Our command when they were patient, and they were certain of Our communications.
( Surah Al sajdah,32:24])


Ø  (Remember) the day when We will call every people with their Imam; then whoever is given his book in his right hand, these shall read their book; and they shall not be dealt with a whit unjustly.

(Surah  Al Isra or bani Israil,17:71])




HADITH
Hazrat Muhammad s.a.w.w said :"Whosoever dies without recognizing the Imam of his time dies the death of the ignorance (Jahiliyyah)."
